5. Top Station

Another popular & high viewpoint. A very commercialised one too. Famous for good views when the weather is clear. Would recommend to visit either Eravikulam or Top Station, don’t try both.

6. Tea museum

A must visit when you are in a tea dominated area.It gives a complete overview of  how tea is processed & the various types of tea. A guide will accompany  you to show these processes showing the machinery involved & the time taken. There’s a factory outlet here where various types of tea can be purchased. 

7. Devikulam

While Munnar is full of tea gardens, the best ones are in Devikulam. You will also find tea pickers here. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful tea gardens. Do take a few pics!

8. Spice Plantations 

Kerala is the land of spices & a spice garden is a natural extension of your visit here. While seeing the spices grow in their natural habitat, a guide will take you through the various types & explain about how to recognise the good ones.

Most also have an outlet for selling farm fresh spices which you can consider for buying.

9. Pothamedu viewpoint

Located near Munnar, Pothamedu Viewpoint is a must visit place in Munnar. Pothamedu is a place to be, if spending some time surrounded by  spice plantations  & beautiful views is what you are looking forward to.

10. Kathakali/Kalari performance

These are  ancient forms of Kerala Arts. Do make it a point  to see this performance during your Munnar trip if you haven’t seen it before. You can see it at   Punarjani Traditional Village in Munnar as well as there are others. You can request your resort to  book them  too.

11. Elephant Camp

Places to visit in Munnar should include a trip to meet the state animal here….you can interact closely with these majestic creatures- feed them, bathe them & ride them. What more can one want? It’s super fun!

Kerala is popular for its Ayurvedic treatments & Munnar with its pleasant climate makes it the best place for a refreshing spa and health treatments,especially  if the Munnar tires you out!

Most waterfalls like Lakkam, Attukal  will come just before Munnar town on the way from Kochi. While they are at their best during monsoons, they are still good to look at in other seasons. Do stop over & take some pics!
